Artist's Statement

"Cabasa" is a piece of art I created as part of the Resonance series. It is an example of a kind of on-stage fantasy - it's about exhilaration and feeling absolutely liberated, confident and OK about being exposed under the spotlight.

She is dancing, there is wind in her hair and she feels completely comfortable in her skin performing on stage and immersed in a magical synergy where nothing else matters. She is totally enveloped by the power of music.

It's also a representation of how a cabasa sounds to me - all blue high D-major sounds - sparkly like small stars shimmering through the air.

This piece is also available as limited edition piece and can be purchased in various sizes.
